Alumicraft 101

Some basics you’ll need to know when ordering a grille insert from us:

All grilles are made from 6061 T-6 aluminum extrusion with either a 1/8” wide by 3/8” deep bar or a 1/8” x 1/2” deep bar.  Both bar extrusions feature a rounded leading edge to mimic the original folded over sheet metal grille bar.  We do not build inserts from plain or stainless steel.

What’s the 3/8” and 1/4” spacing mean?  This refers to the space between each of the grille bars.  The 3/8” spacing is comparable to most stock grille spacing.

What’s front polish or fully polished mean?  The standard finish on all grilles is a front leading bar edge polish with a smooth satin side of the grille bar.  Fully polished means that both the front and sides of the bars are polished before the grille is assembled.  We don't coat or seal the aluminum so maintenance on the grille would be the same as any other aluminum wheel, valve cover, etc.

All grille inserts are built in a grille shell or build fixture made from an original grille for correct fitment and come with all the necessary mounting brackets.

If you need to send me your grille shell to build your insert in, please include your name and a phone number and what spacing/finish you desire for your grille ON THE GRILLE.  You wouldn't believe how many grille shells we get in with no names....  we build grilles, we are not mind readers :)

If you do not know who made your grille shell, you can send it to us to have your insert built in it.  Normally, there is a 10% fee to do this, but rarely more than $100.  The insert will still be removable for paint when you get it back from us.  We prefer to have the grille shell in either gelcoat or primer.  We prefer not to have finished painted grille shells to work with and can't be held responsible for any damage while it's in our possession.

Once you have an idea of what you are looking for, call us at 814-742-7405 and we can take your order over the phone.  Most customers have a few questions that still need some clarification, so it's easier to answer them on the phone.  We do not take online orders for credit card security.

When ordering, we will get you contact information, billing/shipping addresses, and your credit card number.  Your card is not charged until the grille is ready to be built.  We don't like it when someone does it to us, so we don't do it to you.  Call us for current build lead time.

Shipping

US customer inserts are shipped via FedEx Ground, unless FedEx Express shipping is requested.  FedEx Ground rates usually run $40-$150 fully insured.  I only charge what FedEx charges me, I do not mark up the shipping fees.

If you are an international customer, and we have lots of them, we normally ship via USPS.  It's about half the cost of FedEx/UPS.  Shipping to Canada is around $80 USD, Australia/New Zealand is around $145 USD.  The customer is responsible for any import customs or duty fees.

Warranty

You have 6 months to check fitment to your vehicle.  Our grilles have a one year warranty from date of purchase for manufacturing defects, i.e. a loose cross brace or a broken weld.  Cosmetic finish is not covered after 6 months.  Should you have a problem with one of our inserts after the warranty has expired, call us, maybe we can work something out.  Customer modifications, vehicle accidents, improper installation, etc. void any warranty.

Grille inserts can be returned within 6 months of purchase.  They must be in the same unused condition as delivered new.  Drilled holes, paint, modifications in any way deemed by our staff will cause rejection and a refund will not be given and the insert will be returned to the customer at their expense.  The original customer must make the return.  If you purchased one of our grilles through one of our dealers, it needs to be returned through the dealer.  Please call for a return authorization number.  Inserts returned with out this number will be refused.  Fortunately this doesn't happen but maybe 1-1 1/2% of the time.  I like to work with my customers, but I have to set some kind of time frame for returns to keep customers from calling me up 5 years later wanting to return an insert....yes, it's happened.  Return shipping is at the customers expense and must be properly packaged and fully insured.  Original shipping fees are not refunded on accepted returns.

Prices are subject to change at any time.  We reserve the right to update and redesign the grilles at any time.
